El Norte was a school project to simulate a real newspaper and use our skills in the editorial branch of design. For this assignment we had to learn how to use tools that were new at the moment. Theoretical concepts about editorial design were explained and many compositions were examined. The end result was to produce one of the most strict editorial design types of composition; The front page of a newspaper. Every page in a newspaper (except of ads) is loaded with textual information. One has to be clever and knowledgable to arrange everything in one piece. The front page of a newspaper is one of the most complex yet one of the most common pieces of editorial design work.
